I have been taking photographs for well over 20 years now and got into photography through my  involvement with another hobby of mine,
carp fishing. Taking pictures of the large carp that we  occasionally caught for posterity.
Photography then became a hobby in its own right, and has been so  ever since.
I still Carp fish today, and always have my camera gear to hand as you never know when a photo  opourtunity will present itself.
Up until recently I had always used Minolta camera equipment and was  using a Minolta dynax 7D along with a Minolta Dynax 5D.
I now use nearly all Sony equipment with my main camera being a 24 Mega Pixel Sony Alpha A900 full frame digital SLR, along with mainly Sony lenses
and a couple Minolta lenses.
Sony took over the Minolta digital slr production in 2006, and continued with the history and tradition that Minolta had developed over the years.
Living close to such stunning and wonderful scenery as I do in North Devon, this has had a massive influence on the type and style of photography that I do and as such i have specialised in coastal seascapes and landscape photography.
One of my main passions in seascape photography is that of Long Exposure photography, where by using special filters that block light, its possble
to take 30 seconds or more images during the day and this is icreased to several minute's as the light early or late in the day is less. The raeson why
i love this type of photography is that you never really know what the image is going to look like until it appears on the camera due to movement in clouds and water caused by the long exposure.
One thing that never fails to amaze me is that no matter how many times I visit a location, the light is always different and has a dramatic effect on how
the image looks.
I have seen some wonderful sights whilst out taking pictures, and some of the sunsets that I have witnessed have been unbelievable. I hope you get as much enjoyment viewing the images as I have.
